Looking for classic pickup truck lines combined with modern conveniences? This 1958 Chevrolet Apache Restomod truck has had the same loving owner for the past 12 years.
This half-ton stepside truck has been transformed from stock. An eye-popping paint job covers the exterior, complemented by chrome trim. The paint and trim are in very good shape, the wraparound windshield is clear and intact, the big chrome bumpers fit tightly to the body, and the engine bay and cargo bed with oak floor are clean and tidy.
This truck rolls on racing tires mounted on aftermarket alloy wheels. The tires and wheels are in good condition. This truck rides on a 114-inch wheelbase and a 5,000-pound GVWR.
Under the big, counterbalanced hood is a 350 CID V-8 engine mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. The engine breathes via dual exhausts. Driver convenience features include power brakes, power steering, aftermarket power windows, power seats, tilt steering column, and more. There is an Optima yellow-top battery and various engine parts and a distributor.
Inside, the redone cab features a pair of black leather bucket seats, vibrant carpet, a clean-looking headliner mat, and a metal dashboard with matching inner door liners. There's a digital dashboard plus a tachometer with memory. A three-spoke steering wheel with a wood rim faces the driver's seat. There's a massive sound system onboard, with a subwoofer mounted behind the seats and multiple speakers in the cab. A floor-mounted shifter completes the interior.
For its 50th anniversary year, there was a significant redesign of the front end, featuring a shorter/full-width grille, four headlights instead of the previous two, and parking lights in the grille instead of being in the front of the fender. The hood is similar to earlier models, but with a flat “valley” in the middle. A new all-steel bed replaced the previous versions, called “Fleetside,” available in 6.5-foot and eight-foot lengths.
